Take each day as it comes and, although it may be difficult, try not to think too far ahead in the beginning.

It’s easy to overlook this simple strategy during stressful times. When the future is uncertain, organizing and planning may suddenly seem overwhelming.

Planning can help make you feel in control and you will need to be organised with appointments and treatment times and taking any medication. Start a diary for your treatment plan to take care of this. We’ve popped a notebook in Kit to help with notes.

But you will also need to be flexible and take each day as it comes. Give yourself a pat on the back if you do achieve a task (big or small) for the day. Don’t try to take in too much information, so you feel overwhelmed,  only what is necessary and helpful at the time.
