Beware of the Christmas Tree

Christmas is a time to put all the year’s stresses behind you, try and have fun but consider your safety with  Christmas decorating.

You don’t want to spend this time in hospital with injuries include lacerations, falls, and back strains to more serious injuries such as broken necks to broken hips. If using real or articifial trees take care, no ladders with so many people falling off one while decorating the house or the tree. This may be a good time to call a friend or family to help.

If considering a real tree take care with your eyes not to accidentally have open contact between the open eye and a branch of the tree. Even healthy people end up with eye injuries from trees.  Others fall getting it out of the car or trying to pot it.

Remember, what goes up must come down so don’t go overboard because eventually the tree, decorations and lights must come down again.
