As we go into the New Year this was Shelli’s greatest fear “Don’t forget me when ‘it’s over.'” which she spoken about in her Tour de Cure speech.
At the beginning of your diagnosis people are there for you but towards the end, it’s understandable, people get on with their lives and become weary of you being sick for too long.
Shelli’s past year was all about precious moments with her family, especially her niece and nephew. Metastatic breast cancer was a constant reminder that she would not see them grow up but she wanted them to remember her as a cool Auntie Shelli.
So a good New Year’s resolution would be to check up on a sick friend or family member once in awhile with a call, a note or a visit. You will make their day.
Love you Shelli, we won’t forget you…..xx
