If treatment has left your mouth in pain from mouth sores eating even the softest of foods can be difficult.
If you can eat and drink, you can fuel your body and stay in good condition so try pureed foods that are easy to swallow, such as custards, rice, eggs, porridge, and soups. Salt or spices can make sores even more painful so try simple bland foods and avoid spicy foods like hot sauces, curry dishes, salsa, and chilli peppers. Avoid sharp or crunchy foods like crackers, chips, and raw vegetables which could irritate sores. Lukewarm or cool foods can be soothing. If all else failed trying to get Shelli to eat we would venture to the frozen yoghurt shop, it worked most times!!
