Be aware of your footing

Just another reminder to be aware at all times of your footing. Patients undergoing cancer treatment are more at risk for osteoporosis and bones weakened from metastatic cancer can break or fracture.

The more tired and lethargic we are the more difficult it is to pick up our feet. Trips happen when your foot hits an obstacle and you lose your balance. When the flooring goes from carpet to tile to hardwood, flooring height or texture it’s a hazard. When outside be aware of your footing with uneven paved areas and cracked or chipped footpaths. Trips happen when your foot hits an obstacle and you lose your balance.

If you fall, let your medical team and your caregivers know. They might need to check you for injuries.
