That metallic taste you get when going through chemotherapy treatment would put anyone off eating!!!
When your mouth is yucky, foods taste bitter and rancid and you have a metallic taste you can lose interest in food and eating very quickly.

One tip to try to alleviate these gross tastes and help make food palatable is to gently brush your teeth, gums and tongue with a soft bristled toothbrush before and after meals.  Mouthwashes might help too. We have popped Oral 7 toothpaste and mouthwash in kit with our soft toothbrush.

Choose foods that look and smell good. Avoid foods that do not appeal to you. For instance, if red meat (such as beef) tastes or smells strange, then try chicken or turkey.

It is important that you have a well-balanced diet to maintain energy but this can be difficult for cancer patients if they don’t feel like eating. Speak to your medical team for advice about your loss of appetite as good nutrition is needed to keep your immune system strong.
