It’s hard

It’s extremely hard and upsetting having Cancer. Treatment can be long so try and stay in touch.

Friends sticking by you are so important, even when you are a bit sh*tty!

After the initial diagnosis patients are usually overwhelmed with response but as the journey becomes long friends and family seem to disappear.

Don’t stop inviting patients to do things. Often Shelli was too sick to attend but knowing she was invited was important, She lived the dream of going! There was always great excitement if there was a group selfie sent or duckfaces from the event.

Checking in occasionally with cards, phone calls and visits can have an amazing affect on patient’s spirits. Don’t be disheartened if you don’t get a reply. They may be too sick or too tired.
