Kerryn visited patients Sandra and Sahra with 4th-year PhD student Tahlia to lend them a little support on their cancer treatment journeys.
When I took the kits to the clinic I asked if they might allow me to give them a gift and just explain a little about what it was – so I told them just briefly about Shelli and what her goal was with the Kit for Cancer – then the ladies opened the kit and see what was inside. I showed them the flyer which explained why they might need some of these items – and then the duck (which they both took out and looked out like “hmmmm….why?”) – I explained the importance of the duck and even showed them a duck face!! We all had a laugh and a few hugs and I know I left them knowing that someone out there knows what they are about to go through and cares enough to give them this gift.
Love seeing the smiles. People undergoing chemotherapy experience many other side effects top of the noticeable hair loss and our Kit contains a collection of products to aid in relief of these symptoms and other useful items.
