2 months down and one to go for our cold Winter months. Avoiding the flu or influenza has been our main goal along with no slippery falls or extra dry skin problems.
It’s important that people living with cancer need to stay as healthy as possible during these cold months. Cancer and cancer treatments may weaken your immune system, making you less able to fight off infections. People with weakened immune systems who get the flu or a cold have a higher risk of developing complications that can lead to other serious illnesses.
Protect your skin by moisturising and also, remember to drink plenty of water or other fluids.
If you do go outside remember your gloves or mittens, a scarf to cover the neck and faced most important to wear a hat to cover your head, especially if cancer treatment has caused hair loss. Protect the eyes from dry eye.
