When scan time is near it may be a good idea to warn those around you so they can understand your feelings and actions particularly if you snap for no particular reason. Scanxiety is real, it grips you with that dreaded anxiety and the wait for results.
Even after after cancer treatment it doesn’t go away. It should get easier but when checkup scan day nears you become tight chested, there can be tears and you are a bundle of anxiety and stress. You are irritable, emotional and generally a crabby person. This mostly lasts until you get your results.
Plan your scans and medical team appointment as close as possible to lessen the waiting period for results.
