Spring, the days are getting longer, flowers are starting to bloom, the weather is warming up and … oh, unfortunately asthma and allergy triggers are making their seasonal appearance.

Cancer patients can often experience anxiety causing shortness of breath or making the situation worse. Some chemotherapy drugs or radiation therapy to the lungs may also cause this too.

Chat with your medical team if you begin having trouble controlling your breathing,  especially with the added asthma or allergy symptoms. Cancer patients need to be prepared with medication to combat the onset of Spring allergies. If you cannot manage your breathing or notice a worsening or extreme shortness of breath alert your medical team or hospital immediately.

We do add a pocket size tissues to Kit just in case they’re needed!
