It’s important to keep a record of your temperature which is usually at its lowest in the early hours of the morning and highest in mid afternoon. Generally, it stays around 36.5°c and 37.0°c
Fever of 38°C or higher is often the first sign of an infection. Infection is a common side effect of cancer and cancer treatments. Be alert to this early sign and keep a check of your temperature twice a day especially when your neutrophil or WBC count is low. Keep a record of your temperature and beware of change. We’ve included a thermometer and journal in Kit to help with this.
Don’t wait until you are extremely ill. If your temperature is high contact your medical team or head to hospital immediately.
