Be prepared

When emergency visits to hospital became more frequent Shelli and I kept a bag packed permanently for hospital visits. This included pjs, slippers, beanie and other required clothing, single bed doona, pillow, spare toiletries such as her goat soap, soft washcloths, wipes, shampoo and conditioner (when her hair had grown back),  oral 7 toothpaste and mouthwash, a keepcup, a spare charger, pen, bag for laundry, etc,

Also attached was a list of essentials that needed to be included such as medications, medical records, hydralyte, keepcup, her  journal/diary, credit card, iPhone, laptop etc.

It is so easy to forget items and this took some stress and panic out of emergency situations. We had more of a “here we go again” situation instead of panic to find everything required and handling a sick patient too. Like travelling, the more you do it you realise the less you need to pack and learn what essentials are required.
