Dehydration can sneak up on a cancer patient especially if you have nausea or diarrhoea. Water is extremely important for our bodies to function properly, to maintain the bodies temperature, remove waste, and lubricate your joints. The smallest degree of water loss can impair our physical and mental wellbeing. Check the colour of your urine, colourless or light yellow you usually means you are well hydrated or if it’s dark yellow or amber colour you may be dehydrated.
Most people have been told they should drink one to two litres of water a day. Fruit and vegetable juices, milk and herbal teas account for daily water intake. Maybe start the day with a mug of freshly boiled water and a slice of lemon and add a fresh sprig of mint or jazz up a jug of cold water with lemon, cucumber or strawberries.
We add Hydralyte to our Kit to help ensure that you replenish all of your electrolytes back into their body.
