Danger in the Kitchen

From slicing fingers while carving the Christmas turkey to the dreaded oil splash and boiling water injuries the kitchen is a dangerous place at Christmas time.

Spills on the floor can lead to accident so clean up as you go. Don’t overstock cupboards or the fridge as heavy objects may fall out onto your feet. Ouch! Using a to reach higher spaces can lead to falls. Always use a stepladder to reach things up high, no chairs or other unstable surfaces. Use oven gloves to remove food from the oven and give dishes time to cool before touching them. It’s important that you’re careful not to burn yourself. Check for opened cans that have sharp lid edges that can cut.

You will be tired and emotional so try to delegate as many chores as possible.
