Oral care, taking care of your mouth and lips is so important. Certain chemotherapeutic drugs, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and/or surgery can cause mouth sores to form on the inside lining of your mouth or on your lips. If mouth sores appear and feel burn-like they can be painful, making it difficult to eat, talk, swallow and breathe. Keep mouth and teeth clean and your mouth and lips moist by frequently rinsing mouth with water.
For oral care use soft-bristle toothbrush (tip: soften even more by placing brush in very warm water) and brush your teeth at least twice a day with an SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) FREE toothpaste. If using mouthwash make sure it is alcohol free. We’ve popped the Oral7® Moisturising Toothpaste, Oral7®Moisturising Mouthwash and a soft toothbrush in Kit.
Avoid alcohol, tobacco, and spicy and acidic foods. Keep your lips moisturised with the Burt’s Bees Lip Balm, 100% natural ( also in Kit.) Always alert your Medical Team to your condition.
