Share towels, share germs

Treat yourself to fresh clean dry towels this Winter. Bath towels have the ideal breeding ground for growing germs. If hanging damp in the bathroom the towel can remain wet, retaining moisture allowing bacteria to breed.  If they develop a smell, that’s actually bacteria, fungus, and mildew.

To avoid the spread of illness-causing germs change your towels often and hang them to dry in an open space. One of the most effective germ-killers is the sun as the ultraviolet radiation kills germs but this is difficult in Winter so 30 minutes in the dryer goes a long way to killing germs.

NEVER share towels, especially wet ones, with anyone — not even family members. Share towels and you are sharing germs. A  towel has the ability to retain moisture bacteria especially in Winter with the current influenza outbreak.  It is unsanitary and can expose you to various germs and potential diseases such as a staph infection.
