Supporting patients with cancer was important to Shelli and this is why are Kit for Cancer case was created. Many foundations raise money for research which is fabulous because the aim is to provide better treatments and find a cure. But along the way Shelli experienced the need and help cancer patients required now. Often it was the little things that were the biggest help.

Dry July is a fundraiser that encourages you to go alcohol-free in July to raise funds for people affected by cancer. The funds raised will provide invaluable services for cancer patients, their families and carers – whether it’s a lift to a life-saving appointment, guidance from a specialist nurse, connection to an informative voice, access to therapy programs or a bed close to treatment.

Shelli’s good friend Geraldine Farrell is taking on the Dry July challenge. “Believe it or not … I’ve signed up for Dry July! This one’s for you Shelli Whitehurst and Betty Whitehurst!”

“I’m going dry because several people I know have been affected by cancer, including the amazing Shelli Whitehurst who we lost two years ago this July. Her family have continued her work to help newly diagnosed cancer patients through the Kit for Cancer Foundation – donate to Dry July, Kit for Cancer or any similar organisations who are helping patients and their families.”
