Shelli (14/4/1975-21//7/2017)

It’s been two years since Shelli passed away. Shelli, you are with us always, your words of wisdom and funny sayings will always be part of us, especially when we are shopping. No matter what the price, you would say “Practically free!” It’s our common “go to” when deciding to buy something or not!

Shelli loved TED Talks. She would often send me a link with the message “you must watch this”.  I came across this TED Talk by Nora McInerny chatting about grief. If Shelli could send me a link I am sure it would be this one. If you have a spare 15 minutes………..

Ms McInerny is no stranger to grief. In 2014, within a few months, she lost her second pregnancy, her father died, and her husband Aaron died from brain cancer. Since then, life has moved on, she has remarried and now has four children in a blended family. In her TED Talk, Nora McInerny talks about how  ‘We don’t ‘move on’ from grief, we move forward with it’.

She says that when we experience grief, it doesn’t leave us, it becomes a part of who we are. We learn to ‘move forward’ carrying our loss with us, but the memories of that person and the ways they changed us always stay with us.

Love you Shelli, always!
