Stress Down Day

Wednesday 24th July 2019 Lifeline celebrates Stress Down DayResearch shows that 90% of Australians need to stress less – with 74% of people reporting being stressed from work.

Both cancer patients and carers have many stressful moments. Symptoms of stress include physical signs, such as trouble sleeping, headaches, high blood pressure, changes in appetite and heart palpitations. Emotional signs may include feeling tired, unwell, overly sensitive or physically and emotionally drained. If stress is ongoing, it could lead to exhaustion and burnout.

Check with your medical team if feeling stressed and for carers, seek some extra help.

Stress Down Day is a fundraising event to help cover the cost of running Lifeline’s 24 hour telephone counseling line. If you or someone you know is feeling or behaving very stressed, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or visit www.lifeline.org.au/gethelp.
