Cancer patients often say they get cold during treatment so it helps to cuddle up with a blanket throw. Be sure to check if warm blankets are available before unnecessarily transporting one with you. Some centres have blanket warming cabinets. designed to maintain blankets at a safe temperature to assist patient comforting and stored safely in a warm and clean environment. These’s nothing better than being offered a warm blanket when you are feeling miserable. Don’t suffer, be sure to ask for one.
If these are not available or in limited quantities pack a small fleece one that is very warm, lightweight and easily laundered. Even a shawl or large warm scarf to throw around you can make you feel warmer. Treatment can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours A pillow may give you the comfort needed to fall asleep. Somehow there can always be a shortage of pillows so if want to sleep you may want to think about bringing a pillow.
The unfortunate thing is you have to transport these items so choose what is important to you, what’s available in-house and what you can manage, lightweight and smaller in size.
