It’s so easy in the colder weather months not to drink as much water. Dehydration can sneak up on a cancer patient especially if you have nausea or diarrhoea. Water is extremely important for our bodies to function properly, to maintain the bodies temperature, remove waste, and lubricate your joints. Keep track of your water intake making sure you drink enough water during chemo to flush out the drugs.
The smallest degree of water loss can impair our physical and mental wellbeing. Check the colour of your urine, colourless or light yellow you usually means you are well hydrated or if it’s dark yellow or amber colour you may be dehydrated.
Most people have been told they should drink one to two litres of water a day. Fruit and vegetable juices, milk and herbal teas account for daily water intake. We add Hydralyte to our Kit for Cancer case to help ensure that you replenish all of your electrolytes back into their body.
