Small steps, small tasks

Just getting up in the morning, brushing your hair and teeth or eating solid food can be an accomplishment to someone with cancer fatigue, side affects from treatment or your cancer. When you’re feeling down and sick it’s hard to believe anything you do you is an achievement.

Doing things, even a little at a time, can help give you a sense that you are moving forward and achieving.  Not everything needs to be big and fabulously amazing. Tasks can be broken down into smaller steps. Read a book for a short time, weed a small area of the garden, water plants, put dishes away, post that letter or thank you cards you have been writing or buy something new, online shopping is great. Be proud of what you have achieved instead for being upset about what you cannot do.
