Grand final week, Richmond and Greater Western Sydney. WOW, what an amazing effort by the Giants. Will you be joining in any celebrations? Often families and friends hold a barbecue and screen the match whether you barrack for either of the teams or not!
Food at barbecues or picnics is more likely to harbor food borne bacteria. Food is often left unrefrigerated outside for too long before consumption. Insects wind-borne dust and bacteria and meats cooked on barbecues with chicken and seafood add to the risks of food poisoning.
When possible bring your own food to avoid any confusion or fear about how the food was prepared or chilled. People with allergies do, so why not you!
Bring your water bottle because there might not be a good source of water where you are to hydrate. Never share.
If you are having mouth problems try to find out if there will be any sauces, gravies, or dips available or bring your own tomato-based sauce to make eating not so dry and difficult.
Remember your hand sanitiser! Clean your hands before and after food preparation and before consuming produce. We have popped a purse size thank you one in Kit. Don’t leave home without it.
