It’s important to make this area outdoors a safe place to hang out. Make sure family members put hoses, tools, toys and other objects away after use. Watch out for larger shrubs and hanging plants that could be walked into.
Garden maintenance is important. If the area has leaves, gravel or other debris they should be raked up regularly and removed. Beware of moss, slime and uneven or cracked paths. If the area you choose is a lawned area it should be mowed and as flat as possible. Hopefully you can find a kind neighbour or friend to help if you are not around family.
Pets make wonderful companions but keep a look out of their whereabouts when moving around the garden. They love being around your feet!
