Cancer fatigue is different from everyday tiredness. Suddenly you can feel like ‘you’ve been hit by a truck’. Everything can seem overwhelming, an effort, very frustrating and affect your moods. Your work and social life, relationships and general day-to-day living become difficult. Resting does not always help. It is a good idea to set small, manageable goals and plan your day to include a couple of little naps to re-charge.
We have included in our Kit for cancer case a journal to keep a record of your energy levels to see if part of the day is better than others. You will then know when is the best time to go out or get a few jobs done around the house. When possible limit visitors or the time they stay if feeling fatigued. Allow other people to help you.
