It’s Christmas time when visitors may drop by, often with their children. Take care and not have your medication on display.
To children they may look like sweets. Make sure that all medications are up and away and out of sight of children and avoid leaving on your bedside table. Products such as creams, vitamins or eye drops are also medications and need to be stored safely.
Close medicine caps tightly after every use. Remember, child-resistant caps for medicine bottles does not mean child-proof and some children will still be able to get into medicine given enough time and persistence.
Even if you are tempted to keep it handy, put medicine out of reach after every use. If you need a reminder, set an alarm on your watch or cell phone, or write yourself a note.
