Craving Light and Vitamin D

Winter Blues” are hitting extra hard in these COVID-19 colder months. We are spending even more time indoors and the dark winter days and lack of daylight are enough to depress anyone, not just for cancer sufferers. You can have feelings of hopelessness, lack of concentration and energy, social withdrawal and a low mood that doesn’t go away.

Our bodies crave light and Vitamin D. Due to darker days and grey weather, our body and mind suffers under the lack of Vitamin D. If you feeling low try getting outside as often as you can, especially on bright days. Find a window to sit near can also help. If you’re not getting enough natural light from the sun, brighten your environment by turning the lights on to make up for what isn’t coming in naturally.
